Keeping vehicles off the road during storms, not pushing snow onto or across the road and clearing around mailboxes and hydrants.
Augusta Township officials say those are some of the things you can do to help out this winter.
They say their public works department ensures their plowing follows Ontario’s minimum maintenance standards.
Most Township roads are designated as Class 4 which means that plowing will begin within eight hours after the snowfall has ended when more than eight centimetres comes down.
They say that operators often begin as early as 3 a.m. to prepare roads for morning traffic.
Officials say roads may remain snow-covered between plow passes with crews circulating continuously throughout the day to maintain safe driving conditions.
