Wetland restoration work is beginning this week at a property in Augusta Township.
South Nation Conservation officials say the project will restore a historic wetland that was previously drained and degraded.
The property, located on 6th Concession Road, is a 20-acre former hay field and it will be transformed into a series of wetland ponds.
Officials say it will create important habitat for wildlife and increase local biodiversity.
Heavy equipment will be onsite and it’s expected the work will continue into 2026.
