The Chief of Staff to Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark has resigned.
Clark, who also serves as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, saw his Chief of Staff, Ryan Amato, embroiled in a scathing report from Ontario’s Auditor General over a land swap deal in Ontario’s Greenbelt.
In the report, Amato was named as allegedly giving preferential treatment to developers when the protected land was opened up for development.
The Premier’s Office issued a statement saying the resignation has been accepted, effective immediately.
