Ontario Green Party nominates Fiona Jager as Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes candidate

With the 2022 provincial election campaign set to begin next week, the Ontario Green Party has named its candidate for our region.

Fiona Jager, a Gananoque resident, was officially announced as the local candidate earlier today.

Jager, a registered nurse, says one of her main concerns in this election is a desire to see changes to our healthcare system.

“That includes addressing the social determinants of health, like making housing more accessible and communities more caring and connected,” she says.

Ontario Green Party leader Mike Schreiner says Jager’s experience in healthcare will help bring a new perspective to Queen’s Park.

“Fiona will be a strong voice for frontline health workers,” Schreiner says, “and is committed to making healthcare in Ontario more accessible and equitable.”

Jager’s opponents in the election are Kemptville’s Chris Wilson from the Ontario NDP, Prescott’s Josh Bennett from the Ontario Liberal Party, and incumbent Conservative candidate Steve Clark.

Election Day is June 2nd.
