Kemptville and District Home Support announces name change and cancels fundraiser

Kemptville and District Home Support is now known as Seniors’ Community Services.

Susan Smith, Executive Director of the organization, announced the name change last week. Smith says Kemptville and District Home Support has provided supports for seniors, and adults living with physical disabilities.

“Our name change to Seniors’ Community Services is part of our ongoing efforts to make sure the people who can benefit from our services know who we are and how we can help them.”

Clients from North Grenville and the surrounding area can access the services by phone or their website.

Seniors’ Community Services offers:

  • Meals on Wheels
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Telephone Check-Ins
  • Foot Care Clinics
  • And now the Seniors’ Centre Without Walls – a free telephone-based activity program, implemented to keep seniors connected while coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fourth annual Big Band Dinner and Dance fundraiser has been cancelled by the organization.

Bill Forbes, President of the Board, says they want to acknowledge and thank the local businesses and service clubs who signed on as sponsors, donors and supporters for the event.

“Along with our incredibly generous group of individual donors, this financial support makes Seniors’ Community Services run smoothly and helps people live independently. We are so grateful when they step up and say, ‘I want to help.'”
