NG Green being distributed starting this month

You may find a new currency in your wallet.

The Municipality of North Grenville says a new local currency is being distributed that can be spent at your favourite North Grenville businesses.  It is called NG Green and this currency can be spent at participating businesses.

NG Green is a part of the Business Support Programs created by the Business Support Group which has informed the Municipality’s response to COVID-19.

The currency expires on December 31st this year and is not redeemable for cash, and change cannot be given. NG Green is non-transferable and resale is prohibited.

Mayor Nancy Peckford says NG Green is an innovative way to incentivize residents to shop local as much as possible.

“Many local businesses have stepped up during the pandemic to serve their customers in new and different ways, while facing enormous stress.”

Deputy Mayor Jim McManaman says businesses need your support more than ever and this new local currency is a great way to keep your dollars in the community.

Residents can win NG Green through online contests hosted on the Municipality of North Grenville’s Facebook and Instagram. NG Green will also be distributed through random giveaways for people shopping locally.  More information can be found here
