Yesterday was McHappy Day at local McDonald’s Restaurants. McDonad’s in Kemptville, Perth, Smiths Falls and Carleton Place set a goal of $35,000 this year.
The fundraiser brought in $44,440 for the Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa and the two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at CHEO.
More than 1,400 McDonald’s restaurants participated in the national fundraising campaign. For every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe hot beverage purchase, $1 was donated to the charity.
Over 26,000 families stay at Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada while their kids are being treated at nearby hospitals. Â
