Dodgeball tournament brings in money for NF2

The Holy Cross Catholic School Student Council organized a dodgeball tournament in support of a fellow student. Mya Jackson was diagnosed with NF2 (Neurofibromatosis). The 10-year-old has 30 tumors in her brain and spine. Complications of NF2, which affects one in 30,000 people, include blindness and deafness.

Students paid $2 each to participate in the tournament, with all proceeds going to NF2 research. The grades 4-6 tournament wrapped up today and the grades 1-3 tournament will be held next week. A total of $250 has been raised so far.

Students Hanna Riley and Payton Cory say the Student Council held a dodgeball tournament in support of the Ryan’s Well Foundation last year.
