Spencerville rescue seeks homes for 60 cats

Kemptville Pet Valu is hosting an adoption event for the Spencerville TNR Stray Cats Project. It runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Sunday. Around 10 cats available for adoption will be on site.

Founder Cindy Cere says the organization is seeking homes for 60 cats currently. The cats range in age from 7 months to 8 years. Pairs are available, at a discounted adoption rate.

Cere says Griffin and Dublin, one-year-old brothers, are the most friendly cats you’ll ever meet. The adoption fee is around $200 per cat, to cover veterinary costs and spaying.

Pet Valu is also collecting donations for the rescue this month.

Cere says this is the time of year when stray cats are mating. She says it’s very important to keep your cat inside if it’s not fixed.

Discounted spays are available through the TNR Stray Cats Project. Cere says the rescue is also in desperate need of fosters. For more information, email [email protected]
