Centennial ‘67 raising money for new playground equipment

Centennial ‘67 Public School is fundraising for new playground equipment. Money from last year’s battery challenge, totalling over $5,000, will go towards the initiative.

The school is currently collecting batteries to bring in dollars. Battery donations can be dropped off at the school during regular hours.

Parent council co-chair Eva Parker says the goal is to raise $20,000 to buy something suitable for all the kids at the school.

The school is also selling cookbooks, at $10 a pop, to raise money. People can pick up a copy at the main office.

Parent council co-chair Amanda Fitzgerald says the plan is to get some options lined up for next year. She says the kids will be involved in the process and get to choose what they’d like to see in the yard.

Donations from the community are also being accepted. For more information, contact the school directly by calling 613-658-3114.
