Little Black Dress brings in $5,500 for hospital

The North Grenville Chamber of Commerce donated $5,500 to the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation. The cheque presentation was held this morning. The money was raised at the Little Black Dress event back in October.

Foundation Vice-Chair Margret Norenberg says the hospital is looking at getting a new portable x-ray machine next year. She says there’s always equipment that needs updating and the money will be put to the best use possible.

About 200 people attended the Little Black Dress event. This is the third year the event has benefited the hospital, totalling over $15,000 to date.

Chamber Chair Melissa White says the hospital is something everyone uses, no matter demographic, age or stage. She says it’s important for the business community to support the hospital.

The chamber also runs the Harry Pratt Memorial Barbecue every June in support of the hospital. Fundraising efforts by the chamber have brought in over $20,000 for the hospital in the past three years.
