The area may be getting one final blast of winter.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for South-Eastern Ontario because of a potential ice storm this weekend. According to Environment Canada it is looking more and more likely a lot of freezing rain will be falling in parts of the region.
At this point Environment Canada says they’re not sure which area will be hit most heavily but they say 20 mm of ice is possible. The ice buildup, coupled with winds up to 60 km/h, may result in widespread power outages.
More details will be made available as they are released.
