Kemptville’s Easter Monday Blood Drive Is Being Called a Success

The Easter Monday Blood drive is being called a success.

Territory Manager with Canadian Blood Services Mary Ann St. Michael says they had over 119 people attend the event. The drive goal was 96 donations and St. Michael says they ended up with 91 units. She adds that they were so busy wait times grew and some donors actually had to leave. They did schedule appointments for next drive.

According to St. Michael each unit can help three patients, so 273 people could benefit from the holiday turnout. She also praised the turnout they receive in Kemptville, saying 96 units is a high target and over the last year they’ve actually collected 99.7 percent of their local goal.

Blood Donor clinics are planned in advance based on the area’s turnout. St. Michael finished by saying she’s always impressed by the turnout they continue to get, especially since they’re in town almost monthly.
