Tickets are still available for the Beth Donovan Hospice’s latest fundraiser.
The first ever A Taste of Hospice will be held on April 14th, with all proceeds going back to hospice programs. Board Chair with the hospice Sue Walker says ten restaurants, five breweries and three wineries from the area will be providing an all you can taste experience. Walker says they run a wide variety of programs and services, ranging from a medical equipment lending library to bereavement counselling.
According to Walker the equipment lending library covers things like wheelchairs, walkers and commode. The hospice also offers support groups, including a caregivers’ coffee and art therapy for children who are grieving. When asked to identify how many people the hospice helps Walker says it’s difficult to calculate because those they help are often accompanied by loved ones. She does note that they help over 500 people annually.
Tickets for the Taste of Hospice can be purchased at the hospice and are $35 for adults and $20 for children.
