Councilor Jim Bertram has announced that he is stepping away from Municipal duties as he is battling multiple forms of cancer.
On Monday, Bertram took to the podium to make the announcement, saying that he did not feel he d be able to continue while going through treatment. During his statement he told everyone in attendance that while he will be away from his work, he will still be in Kemptville and reminded everyone to say hi; he also made it clear that he has not lost his sense of humour.
Bertram left shortly after making his statement however did point out that Mayor Gordon, Deputy Mayor Tobin and Councilors Onasanya & Arnaud will be covering his duties while he is away.
