The municipality is debating honouring a late community member.
Owen Fitz’Gerald passed away last year and is remembered in the area for his long-standing community service. To honour his commitment and dedication the North Grenville Municipal Council is suggesting dedicating Veterans Way roadway in his name. It was through Fitz’Gerald’s vision and active participation that an existing road at the Ferguson Forest Centre was made Veterans Way.
Fitz’Gerald was a Councillor on the last Oxford-on-Rideau Township Council before amalgamation. He then became a member of the original North Grenville council and served with distinction.
