Infrastructure construction for Brockville General Hospital

The City of Brockville has announced the start of infrastructure upgrades intended to support the redevelopment project at Brockville General Hospital.

Starting this week there will be road and infrastructure work done on Bartholomew and Pearl Streets. As of today Charles Street is permanently closed from the former Red Cross building east towards Bartholomew Street. Patients and visitors trying to access the Charles Street site will need to enter through the Ormond Street entrance.
Bartholomew Street, between the railway tracks and Pearl Street, is going to be closed from August 8th until October 31st. Officials with Brockville General Hospital say the construction lays key infrastructure for their new addition, which is going to be added to the existing site.

The city committed $4.7 million towards the hospital’s redevelopment project in April. Construction is expected to begin this winter, pending approval by Infrastructure Ontario, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Brockville General Hospital.
