No significant issues with municipal financial audit for 2016

The Municipality of North Grenville has received its financial audit for 2016.

The 2016 audited financial statements by Allan and Partners LLP have been accepted by North Grenville Council.

The audit states that there were no significant internal control deficiencies throughout the past year.

However, the report states that there are some suggestions on how to improve and enhance internal processes.

The report included a suggestion of coming up with a policy related to vacation owed to employees. The auditor noted that there’s been a steadily increasing balance owed in the past three years.

That policy has been introduced to limit the number of carry-over days employees are allowed to hold on to year-over-year. It also limits how long they can be held on to.

You can read the audited statements within the agenda package from Monday night’s meeting by going to www.northgrenville.ca.
