School buses are still on the road despite today being the first day of summer.
The Grenville County OPP is reminding drivers to be careful with a week of school left to go. It says drivers need to be cautious around school buses and stop for the flashing lights.
The OPP reminds drivers that they must leave 20 metres between their vehicle and the school bus when stopping. That includes drivers arriving behind or in front of the school bus.
The OPP also says drivers need to wait until the bus moves or the lights stop flashing before it is safe to proceed.
The OPP says the fine for not stopping is $400 and six demerit points for a first offence.
