Community members to be part of St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival for second straight year

For the second straight year members of the South Grenville community will be joining the professionals on stage during the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival.

The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival recently announced that the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be extending special concession to allow twenty non-professionals to take the stage with the 12 professionals scheduled to perform. This year the festival will be staging Antony & Cleopatra and The Three Musketeers.

Ten community members will be performing in each production as extras or, as they’re referred to in the theatre world, supers. Eight of the supers will be returning after participating in last year’s Julius Caesar, four are past participants in the festival’s Young Artists Training Program and some are related. There will be a mother-son team, husband-wife team and two mother-daughter teams. The supers range in age from 13 to 71 years old.

Participating in Antony and Cleopatra are; Katherine Belrose of Prescott, Joshua Craig of Brockville, Katrish Evoy of Cardinal, Jesse Gonidis of Brockville, Sherry Leeder of Brockville, Jessica Madden of Spencerville, Christina Madden of Spencerville, Kylie Osborne of Spencerville, Katrina Tegrotenhuis of Roebuck and Emily Wright of Garretton.
