Water levels slowly dropping

High water levels may continue to affect areas near the water in Kemptville for a little while longer.

While the water level has started to drop, the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority said yesterday that access roads like Hilly Lane still had about 34 centimeters left to go. Until those areas have safe access restored, the RVCA says it will keep the Flood Warning in effect.

The water levels may take a little time to lower due to the fact that water has to be drained from some of the Rideau Canal’s reservoir lakes. The RVCA also says that rain in the forecast may slow the decline.
