Radiothon nets $16,618 for Salvation Army

The community pulled through in a big way for the Kemptville Salvation Army. The annual 97.5 Juice FM Radiothon brought in $16,618 for the organization. The radiothon ran from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Friday.

Local businesses and individuals dropped by the station and called in to donate. Last year’s radiothon brought in $13,688.

Salvation Army Director Calvin Wong says community support is integral. He noted it’s been an incredible year and so many more people are going to be able to have a great Christmas.

Wong explained clients sharing their stories on-air made an impact. He says it was powerful to listen to what they’ve gone through and how the Salvation Army has helped them.
