The end is in sight for the multi-year County Road 43 widening project in Kemptville.
North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says the project, which will see the road widened from 200 metres west of County Road 44 to 220 metres east of Colonnade Drive, is projected to be completed by next summer.
It includes the replacement of the bridge over Kemptville Creek.
The project, a partnership between the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, R.W. Tomlinson Ltd. and North Grenville, started in March 2024 and involves work both above and below ground as well as the addition of four new roundabouts.
Peckford tells the Vista Radio newsroom that they have worked hard to make sure the project stays at its estimated price tag of around $50.8 million.
“This project is on time and on budget. As complex as it has been, for the most part there haven’t been a lot of surprises.”
Peckford adds the next major part of the work to be done is the installation of a roundabout in front of W.O. Stinson and Son Ltd. gas station and Kemptville Community Living.
