Update: A broken tree limb making contact with a power line eyed as the cause of Monday morning power outage

A broken tree limb making contact with a power line is the cause of a power outage that left over 7,000 Hydro One customers in North Grenville in the dark.

In a statement sent to Moose FM, Hydro One says it happened around 5:53 a.m. Monday.

They say the power was then restored in stages to bring it back on as quickly as possible with snow and difficult terrain making access to the remote locations more challenging.

The hydro company says crews worked carefully and power was restored to 6,400 customers at around 7:22 a.m.

The lights came on for the remaining 1,300 customers at 10:32 a.m. once repairs were completed.
