73’s Wrap: Kemptville picks up first win of 2026 as wheels keep rolling

Kemptville 73’s are hoping to keep the momentum going as they enter into 2026.

Kemptville finished off 2025 on a stretch that saw them win nine out of 10 games and earn at least a point in 10 straight games.

They followed that up with a 2-0 victory in Pembroke on Sunday afternoon in their first game of the new year.

Goalie Rylan Donovan picked up his Central Canada Hockey League leading fourth shutout of the season and the game marked the fourth straight time that Kemptville hasn’t given up a goal to their competition.

Forward Lucas Achim scored the game winning goal, his sixth of the season, late in the second period.

The 73’s currently sit in second place in the CCHL with a record of 34GP-21W-11L-1 Overtime Loss-1 Shootout Loss for 44 points.

Kemptville only has two games at home in January including on Friday night when they host the Ottawa Junior Senators.
