Excitement is building as the Kemptville 73’s are preparing to get started for a new season.
Training camp for the junior A hockey team gets underway Wednesday at the North Grenville Municipal Centre with fitness testing followed by players getting on the ice for the first time on Thursday.
Kemptville will jump right into preseason action, taking on the Carleton Place Canadians at home on Saturday afternoon, one of five exhibition games the team will play leading up to the start of their 2025-26 regular season on Friday, Sept. 19 at home to the Cornwall Colts.
Shawn Fensel, Head Coach of the Kemptville 73’s, tells Moose FM that there will be a number of new faces on this year’s team which will lead to some battles in camp.
“Looking forward to seeing who jumps out and takes advantage of any opportunities that they get.”
Over half of the roster will look different with a number of players aging out and others heading elsewhere to play.
