Missing Kemptville man Albert Dyks found in river, deceased

The body of missing Kemptville man Albert Dyks has been found in a river near Algonquin Park. The 72-year-old was reported missing from a hunt camp off the Barron River Canyon Road when he went out to collect water for the evening dishes Wednesday around 7pm and did not return. OPP search crews had been diligently searching the area with Marine, Helicopter and Canine Units when Dyks’ body was found in the river Friday afternoon. A friend of one of the hunt camp members reports the beloved member of the Kemptville community was found not by an OPP diver but by a Kemptville man trained in outdoor survival and rescue who had gone to the area to help with the search.
