Albert Dyks of Kemptville was up at the Barron River Hunt Camp in the Laurentian Hills with friends and fellow hunt camp members Al Ireton, Mike Clobridge, Dave Burns and Jamie Brown among others, as part of their annual work weekend. He went out to get water to do the evening dishes at around 7pm Wednesday night and hasn’t been seen since. Search and rescue crews are returning to the Algonquin Park area this morning with more equipment and personnel. They have Emergency Response, Marine, Helicopter and Canine Units dispatched to find the missing 71-year-old man. Dyks is the former owner of landmark Kemptville business, Albert’s Meat Shop. He raised his family in the area and is an active member of the Kemptville Christian Reformed Church, where prayer vigils are being held for his safe return.
