A 34-year-old mother of two is charged with first degree murder in the death of her Barrhaven neighbour. Gurpreet Ronald lived one street over from Jagtar Gill, who was found stabbed to death in her living room in January. The murder suspect worked with the victim’s husband at OC Transpo, and sources say the two were close. Nearly 30 friends and family members of the victim were in the courthouse this morning to witness the suspect’s first appearance. Among them were Gill’s widower and three children. Ronald’s next court appearance is one week from today, by video link. Reports say DNA evidence was used to connect Ronald to the murder.
