Ottawa woman struggles to bring husband's body home from Cuba

A local woman says she was shocked by the inconsiderate treatment an Ottawa woman received after her husband drowned in Cuba last Wednesday.  She says the wife and mother of two had to take the bus to the airport and no one was there to meet her and help her through the crowds to get on the plane as promised. Our source says she took the grieving woman to the front of the line where she was taken through right away, only to wait yet again to get on the plane. It was a different story in Canada. Customs whisked the woman through to her waiting family and retrieved her luggage for her. 40-year-old Yue Liu drowned March 19 at a Varadero resort. His 7-year-old son was saved by a former Canadian military medic. Sunwing media personnel was not available for comment. Fundraising is currently being done by the Ottawa Chinese community to cover costs involved in bringing the man’s body home.
