Old Town BIA members talk Easter Bunny Hop

Shelley Mitchell says she’s looking forward to bringing more people back to downtown Kemptville at an upcoming event.

Mitchell, the Chair of the Old Town Kemptville Business Improvement Area, spoke with MyKemptvilleNow.com about her team’s plans for this year’s “Easter Bunny Hop.”

“We love inviting families downtown to enjoy our beautiful area,” Mitchell says. “Especially after a cold winter, it’s nice to get out and about, so we have a whole lot of our businesses participating.”

Deron Johnston, the BIA’s Executive Director, says there’s more going on at the event this year compared to 2023, including a dance party at Rotary Park and the return of the Easter Bunny.

Mitchell says planning has been underway for the event for several months, with her team entering “full plan mode” in January.

“We have an events committee with the BIA, and we are constantly looking at how we’re going to improve our events,” she says.

The Bunny Hop is happening along Prescott Street on Saturday, March 23rd.
