A local business owner is running an initiative to benefit the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH), as a way of saying thank you for the care her daughter recieved.
Gloria Logtens’ daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall and received nearly all her treatment at WDMH.
Now, Logtens is running a fundraiser where half the proceeds from select items at her storefront, Treats and Treasures Gift Shop in Finch, will be donated to the hospital.
She says she knew her daughter was in good hands at WDMH and wants to help make sure other people can access that same care.
“I would like to support the cancer program to ensure this local treatment continues to be available to our community,” Logtens explains.
The initiative at her shop runs until the end of April.
