Reminder: local ice fishing huts must come down by next Friday

If you haven’t yet, you’ve got about a week left to get your fishing huts off the ice.

March is the month ice fishing huts need to come down across Ontario.

In our region, huts need to come down no later than March 15th, and must be taken off the ice before it breaks up regardless of the date.

If your hut is set up in a different part of the province, you’ll need to look up what Fisheries Management Zone (FMZ) it’s in to find the date you need to take it down.

You can find maps of all the FMZs in Ontario and a detailed breakdown of the regulations on the provincial government’s website.
