With more than $100,000 raised, Dundas Manor staff members are thanking everyone that helped make its Grand Parade fundraising event successful.
The parade is a national initiative raising money for causes that support seniors, and staff members say it’s raised more than any other project in Canada.
“It takes a village,” says Chief Executive Officer Cholly Boland, “and we are ever so close to turning the sod for the new home. Thank you to our wonderful community and all of you. There is magic here today in addition to the magic that happens every day at Dundas Manor.”
The money from the event is going towards the new Dundas Manor long-term care home project, building a brand-new facility for the residents to live in.
In an interview last week, Boland said the project needed roughly $6 million more to get completed.
Donations are still being accepted on the Grand Parade website until the end of September, with the final total set to be announced early next month.
