Police Services Board issues advice for driving safe around bikes, motorcycles

As the weather gets warmer and more people leave their cars at home and use alternatives, North Grenville’s Police Services Board is urging motorists to share the road.

The board has put out some advice for drivers on how to drive safely around motorcyclists and bicycles, to commemorate Motorcycle Safety Month.

“Due to their size, motorcycles and bicycles may be harder to see,” explains Board Chair John Barclay.

“When driving near a cyclist or motorcyclist, be alert, and always signal and check your blind spots before making a turn or changing lanes.”

Bikers and motorcyclists are encouraged to do their part to keep North Grenville’s roads safe by keeping an eye on weather forecasts, wearing protective equipment like helmets, and carefully following traffic regulations.
