Kemptville District Hospital: no more screeners at Emergency Room and Clinic entrances

You’ll be able to get into the Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) faster the next time you visit the Emergency Room.

The hospital has announced that COVID-19 screeners will no longer be stationed outside the Emergency Room entrance, or the northern Clinic entrance to the facility.

Visitors are still being encouraged to sanitize their hands, put on a mask, and review the screening questions posted at the entrance if they’re visiting a patient.

“We have received many letters and emails from patients saying how much they have appreciated our friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate screeners,” the announcement reads, “so we know they will be missed at the ER and Clinic entrances.”

Hospital staff members say that a screener will still be present outside the hospital’s Interim Long-Term Care and Convalescent Care unit.

That wing cares for older residents waiting for acceptance into long-term care homes, as well as patients who are undergoing physiotherapy and other treatments before returning home.

You can find more information on the KDH website.
