North Grenville considering “Residential Rodent Control Rebate Program”

The next time you need to call an exterminator to get rid of rats or mice on your property, you might get some money back from the Municipality.

At this week’s meeting, North Grenville council will be voting to decide whether to adopt a new “Residential Rodent Control Rebate Program.”

According to a report to council written by By-Law Services Manager Jeff Baribeau, the program would offer residents $200 per property annually in rebates for hiring licensed pest control experts.

Baribeau’s report claims this rebate program, which was inspired by similar offerings in Peel and Niagara, will require $10,000 to be set aside in 2023’s municipal budget if approved.

Council will decide whether to adopt the program or not Tuesday evening.
