Kemptville District Hospital’s Jenny Read talks inpatient unit closing to visitors

The Communications and Patient Relations Officer for the Kemptville District Hospital says the respiratory outbreak currently affecting its inpatient unit is COVID-19.

Jenny Read says the unit will reopen to visitors once the hospital and the Health Unit declare the outbreak over.

“Although we can’t specify a date now,” Read says, “we will inform the local media and post on social media when the visitor restrictions are lifted.”

She also says exceptions can be made in some circumstances.

“Patients and families can contact the Unit Manager for an exceptional circumstance consideration,” Read adds.

Other wings of the hospital, like its Interim Long-Term Care Unit, are still open to visitors. To learn more, or find contact details for the Unit Manager, visit the Kemptville District Hospital’s website.
