Kemptville Youth Centre annual Book Fair fundraiser returns this weekend

A local non-profit that supports kids in Kemptville is hosting a fundraising event you might want to attend if you’re looking for a new book to read.

The Kemptville Youth Centre’s annual Book Fair is happening over the course of three days, starting Friday August 19th.

Brian Arleth, a member of the organization’s Board of Directors, says people will be able to buy donated books throughout the weekend, with the money going towards supporting the Youth Centre.

“We also have a 50/50 raffle this year,” Arleth says. “That’s a new addition, a chance to win some money to pay for the books, and to help out the Youth Centre additionally.”

The organization runs after-school programs, employment workshops and other initiatives meant to help keep local children off the streets.

“It’s the support of the community that allows us to keep our doors open,” Arleth says. “We’re a non-profit organization, our funding comes through fundraisers and grants and donations from generous community members. This is the one big event of the year, and we look forward to seeing everyone come out and support the youth.”

The Book Fair is happening at the Ferguson Forest Centre. You can view the full schedule and learn more about the organization on the Kemptville Youth Centre website.
