Kemptville Pride announces button design contest

If you’re interested in trying locally roasted coffee, you can get some for free by entering a contest being held by Kemptville Pride.

The organization, a non-profit that supports LGBTQ2S+ people in the community and organized Kemptville’s first Pride Parade in 2019, is holding a contest to design a Pride-themed button for events later this year. Submissions are being accepted from anyone in the community until February 20th, and a public vote will decide the winner.

The winner will receive some free merchandise from the organization, and all entrants will get a free bag of coffee from the Rideau Roastery, a local craft coffee company. The company has supported Kemptville Pride in the past, raising $350 for the organization last year by selling rainbow-print bags of coffee and Pride-themed t-shirts.

Kemptville Pride is encouraging entrants to make designs that feel rooted in the community. “Please bear in mind our tagline, A Rainbow With Rural Roots, when you create your design,” it says in a Facebook post. “We’d like to incorporate that rural feeling into the design.” For details on how to submit your design, visit the organization’s Facebook page.
