Frank’s Soccer Training Academy Targets Early July For Return To Play

The Founder of a Kemptville soccer academy is ready to get back to developing players, once they are able to take the field.

Frank Onasanya of Frank’s Soccer Training Academy says with Ontario continuing its gradual reopening, and COVID cases on the decline, they’re looking at early July for a return to action.

“We’re hoping that if things go well, once we’re out of this lockdown we’re hoping that by maybe July 5th,” Onasanya said. “That’s what we’re targeting.”

Upon its return, Onasanya says they will field U11 and U18 boys and girls teams.

The Academy was initially set for a return in June but the stay-at-home order caused their tentative start date to be pushed back.

Onasanya says the delay has not been ideal, but it’s allowed them an opportunity to keep registration open for longer.

“If anybody’s still interested in playing competitively and having some fun, getting in shape, and losing these lockdown blues, then please come on board with us,” Onasanya said. “We’re still looking for more players.”

Anyone interested in registering for the Academy can do so online through its website.
