North Grenville CAO welcomes facilitator's report on future of Kemptville College

After months of working with agriculture stakeholders and the Kemptville College Renewal Task Force, North Grenville Chief Administrative Officer Brian Carre says he welcomes the provincial facilitator’s report.

The Honorable Lyle Vanclief has recommended the management and future operations of Kemptville College be transferred to the Municipality of North Grenville.

CAO Brian Carre explains how things would work under this vision:

The Ferguson Forest Centre was transferred to the Municipality for a dollar. A non-profit organization was set up to operate the facility and grounds. This is the model the Kemptville Centre for Rural Advancement might follow.

Carre says that, after months of hard work and negotiations, he is happy the provincial facilitator is recommending the province entrust the Municipality with future management and operations of the Kemptville College campus.

Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Jeff Leal said he will work with his partner ministers to review the facilitator’s report and come to a decision by the end of January.
