The Upper Canada District School Board has signed a lease with the Kemptville Campus Education and Community Center.
The signing will kick start the launch of the School Board’s Level 1 Commercial Vehicle Apprenticeship Program. The new location will be a training center and will launch in September 2021. The program, being done through T.R. Leger, hopes to address a growing need for skilled trade workers. The program will allow full0time adult students and high school students to gain experience and training in technician roles.
The School Board hopes that it will address the need for skilled trade workers across the province. UCDSB Board of Trustees Chair John McAllister says the signing establishes a physical presence in the school and training facility, and it will allow the Board to support students with community-based learning and trade certifications.
