MPP Steve Clark shows appreciation for Ontario Arts Council with special event

Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark hosted an appreciation event for the Ontario Arts Council at the Firehall Theatre in Gananoque on Wednesday, November 12th. The evening put the riding’s rich and diverse arts and culture community in the spotlight. Clark welcomed Marie-Élisabeth Brunet, a board member with the Ontario Arts Council, and some of the organizations and individuals the OAC has supported this year . In his remarks, Clark thanked everyone in the riding – whether they’re on stage or working behind the scenes – for keeping the creative spirit in Leeds-Grenville so alive and vibrant.

In the past year, the Ontario Arts Council provided funding totaling more than $300,000 to five organizations: The Brockville Arts Centre, Brockville Concert Association, Fort Town Concert Association, St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, and Thousand Islands Playhouse and three individual artists: Noel Bullock, Tony Palermo and Kemptville’s own Michael Blouin.

Clark said he hoped more individual artists and organizations in Leeds-Grenville will connect with the Ontario Art Council for support. To learn more about the programs offered by the OAC, visit their website at www.arts.on.ca
