CAO Brian Carré is no longer employed by the Municipality of North Grenville.
Mayor Nancy Peckford says the employment relationship has ended, effective immediately.
She noted the decision was made yesterday. Council held a closed session meeting in the afternoon, to discuss a private individual matter.
Peckford says the employment agreement is confidential and details about what happened will not be made public. She explained as council’s evolve and change, it’s typical to see changes like this.
Peckford noted council met with senior staff this morning and expects it to be business as usual. She says the plan is to appoint a member of the senior management team as acting CAO by the end of this week and initiate the search for a new CAO as soon as possible.
Peckford explained council is very optimistic about how things will proceed over the next couple of months.
Carré was hired in May of 2012 and was instrumental in securing the purchase of the Kemptville Campus.
