Kayaking for Cancer raises over $50,000

The numbers are in. Kayaking for Cancer brought in over $50,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. A total of 45 paddlers took part this year. The 202 kilometer journey started in Kingston and finished in Ottawa on August 17.

Founder Kevin Dionne says plans are already in the works for next year, which marks the 20th anniversary of Kayaking for Cancer.

He noted the group will be organizing a bunch of events to get closer to the $1 million goal. Kayaking for Cancer has raised $765,000 for cancer research since it started.

Dionne says it’s all thanks to the people who believe in their cause.
