Mustangs make it to provincials

The St. Michael Catholic High School boys soccer team wrapped up a successful season. The Mustangs celebrated 10 consecutive Leeds & Grenville Secondary Schools Athletic Association Championships this year. The team advanced to the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) Championship at the end of May, securing a place at provincials.

The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations Championship was held in Ancaster from June 5 to 7.

The Mustangs won two games and tied two games.

Coach Wesley Campeau says it wasn’t enough to get them out of their pool. He says he’s proud of the team for making it to provincials.

Campeau says Glengarry District High School took home the gold medal. He noted the Mustangs tied Glengarry at EOSSAA and it was bittersweet to see them win. Campeau says it shows how close the Mustangs were to bringing home a provincial title.
