Update: While the OPP reported earlier on Twitter that one eastbound lane had been reopened, it’s now reporting all lanes as being closed again between County Road 22 and Highway 16. A detour remains in place on County Road 2.
Update: One eastbound lane has been reopened according to the OPP.
Highway 401 has been closed in both directions west of Cardinal due to a two vehicle collision.
The OPP says that a detour has been put in place on Highway 2 between Highway 16 and County Road 22.
The OPP says emergency vehicles are attending the scene. No other details have been provided at this time.
Traffic is also slow on Highway 401 near Prescott due to the incident and construction taking place on that highway. Traffic is also heavy on Highway 2 in Prescott. You may experience delays if you are travelling through the area.
