Diesel’s Stampede to bring in dollars for local man battling cancer

Ryan Forbes continues to fight for his life. The local man was diagnosed with stage four cancer last July, at the age of 39. Since then, the community has rallied around Forbes, his wife and their young daughter. Diesel’s Army – Fun For Funds is planning another event in support of the family.

Diesel’s Stampede is set for July 26 at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, starting at 7:00pm.

Organizer Lisa Brownrigg says there will be country music, games and all things Kemptville.  Tickets are available now, for $10 a piece.

Brownrigg says Forbes is currently undergoing another round of chemotherapy treatment. She says if the new type of chemo can shrink the cancer, Forbes could be considered for more radical treatments.

The goal is to raise $10,000 for the family. Sponsors are still needed for the event.

Brownrigg says the more expenses that are covered means more money for Ryan and his family.
