The Pose for Paws event has raised $812 for Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary in Kemptville.
The event was put on by students in the business program at St. Lawrence College, Brockville on Saturday. The three hour fundraiser also filled a donation bin with 100-percent of all proceeds going to Big Sky Ranch.
Student Amanda Van Alstine says they chose this organization because they are all really passionate about animals.
“We just really wanted to give back to (Big Sky Ranch) because we see that they not only help just domestic animals like dogs, cats and rabbits, they also help farm animals.”
Van Alstine says approximately 40 people had photos with their family and pets at the event. She adds the students feel amazing after raising the money and they couldn’t stop smiling seeing the success of the event.
Van Alstine says Katie Jones from Jones photography in Smiths Falls donated her time and two raffle baskets for the event.
